Italian pizza
Here is a recipe for a classic Italian pizza:
Ingredients:
1 cup warm water (110-115 degrees Fahrenheit)
1 tsp sugar
2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp salt
1 tbsp olive oil
1 cup tomato sauce
8 oz mozzarella cheese, shredded
Optional: toppings such as sliced vegetables, meats, and spices
Instructions:
In a small bowl, mix together the warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let the mixture sit for about 10 minutes, or until it becomes foamy.
In a large bowl, mix together the flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil and stir until a dough forms.
Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 10 minutes, or until it becomes smooth and elastic.
Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover it with a towel. Let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.
Preheat your oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit.
Punch down the dough and roll it out on a lightly floured surface to the desired size and thickness. Transfer the dough to a lightly greased baking sheet or pizza pan.
Spread the tomato sauce over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges. Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese over the sauce. Add any additional toppings as desired.
Bake the pizza for 10-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving. Enjoy!
