Fried Chicken USA recipe
Here is a recipe for fried chicken that is popular in the United States:
Ingredients:
2 lbs chicken pieces (such as drumsticks, thighs, or breasts)
2 cups buttermilk
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 tsp salt
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
vegetable oil, for frying
Instructions:
Place the chicken pieces in a large bowl and pour the buttermilk over them. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or up to 24 hours.
In a shallow dish, mix together the flour, salt, paprika, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
Remove the chicken from the buttermilk and allow any excess to drip off. Dredge the chicken in the flour mixture, making sure to coat it evenly on all sides.
Heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil in a large, heavy-bottomed pot or Dutch oven over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F.
Carefully place the chicken pieces in the hot oil and cook for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through.
Remove the chicken from the oil and place it on a paper towel-lined plate to drain. Allow the chicken to rest for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy!
