Szechwan Chicken Recipe

The Chinese influenced appetizer is very popular among the restaurant lovers. Szechwan chicken recipe is proved to be prepared in every home.

Szechwan Chicken Recipe


  1. cubed boneless chicken (250 grams)
  2. soya sauce (½ tbsp)
  3. vinegar (¼ tbsp)
  4. Salt
  5. pepper powder (¼ tsp)
  6. Corn starch (1 to 2 tbsp)
  7. red chili sauce
  8. red chilli powder (1 tsp)
  9. oil (1 tsp)
  10. sugar (½ tsp)
  11. hot water (1½ to 3 tsp)
  12. Sichuan peppers crushed (¾ tsp)
  13. ginger minced (½ tbsp)
  14. garlic minced (¾ tbsp)
  15. soya sauce (½ tbsp)
  16. vinegar (¼ tbsp)
  17. sesame oil preferred (1 tbsp)
  18. onion thinly sliced (1 small)
  19. onion for seasoning (1 medium)
  20. spring onion (2 to 3 sprigs)

How to prepare?

The first step of making the dish is to have tender chicken. If it is not, then add buttermilk to do that. The buttermilk must be added ½ tsp on the chicken and kept in freezing system through the entire night. Thus, it can be tenderized very well. Now, add sufficient quantity of vinegar, soya sauce and pepper powder. Keep it aside for a 15minutes time period. Now, prepare the onion, spring onion and onion garlic for the dish and then take the chicken and add 1 tsp corn starch on it. Shallow fry the chicken on controlled temperature. Fry sliced onion, ginger garlic and crushed Sichuan pepper on high flames. Add chili sauce, soya sauce on the fry and then vegetables that you like. Now, cook for a while and then mix the fried chicken on it. Keep the dish under cover for 10 minutes and cook it very well. Your dish is ready.
